  • You will start working or be in training for your job within 7 working days of your (in-person) registration at our program partner’s London office.
  • Jobs can be provide both with or without accommodation.
  • Shared house accommodation is available in a variety of Suburbs in ZONE 3 at very good London rates.
  • Single and twin shared rooms are available
  • Only 7 day's notice is required by the company prior to leaving either the job or the accommodation.
  • You are able to take a break and go travelling and be rostered back onto their books when you are back in London.

This program offers employment in Furniture Fitting and Porter work in a commercial environment. You can expect to earn an average of £350 gross a week. There is also shift work, so you can accept and decline shifts based on your holiday plans. Working in this program will give you flexibility to travel as much as you want and you will always have a job to come back to on your return. This particular program is an in-house program so you will be working directly for the program managers.

This is the perfect job for someone who is physically fit. You will receive great training from our program partner’s brilliant in house staff. You can work as much as you want for a lively and spirited team. Training provided by the furniture fitting team follows a certified training plan, resulting in a certificate. This industry operates with specific standards, which means that you can use this training elsewhere in the future.

Job Overview

Typically, the work is based on companies who are relocating to another location or perhaps another building or space in the same location. Typically, your day will consist of packing goods into boxes, moving desks and reassembling office furniture in accordance with specifications. You can work as a furniture fitter without any formal qualifications and offside positions are available if you do not have a driver’s licence. If you would rather be out and about and you love to work in different environments, this is the role for you!

The Duties Include

  • Inspect office to see what has to be moved, then pack and label items if required.
  • Load goods onto truck either by hand or by using a forklift, trolleys, lifting straps or lifting hooks.
  • Use pads and hessians to make sure items are not damaged.
  • Make sure the load is correctly placed and secured to avoid any damage to the truck or goods.
  • Drive defensively and handle all types of road conditions.
  • Unload goods and move them into the drop-off address, unpack if required.
  • Check larger items against inventory, noting any wear or tear or damage.
  • Conduct a general maintenance check of the truck and clean the vehicle.
