Participants' Stories
I was immersed in the culture and able to really practice my Spanish and take it to the next level. I enjoyed teaching English and the people I met welcomed me with open arms. I can’t wait to return to visit and hope to do another volunteer program again soon. Sarah, Australia, Honduras Volunteer
The site of my placement (La Esperanza) is a wonderful town with incredibly friendly people. Respect their culture and you will be in for the best experience of your life. Marko, Australia, Honduras Volunteer
My experience was absolutely spectacular. The owner of the reserve and his wife are simply good people and made my experience something I will take with me the rest of my life. Ben, Australia, Ecuador Volunteer
GVN staff was great. All the information before the program was worthwhile and informative. The contact in Costa Rica was excellent. The program information was fantastic as it insured I knew where I was going and what to expect when I arrived. It was very informative, covering everything from what to pack to how to get to the program on local transport. Nicole, Australia, Costa Rica Volunteer
I had a wonderful time at San Cristobal. I was so sad to leave. The staff at the station are some of the most helpful and friendly people I've ever met, and I was sad to have to say bye to them. Thank you for providing such opportunities that make the world a smaller place! Pete, Australia, Ecuador Volunteer
I had the most unbelievable experience. It was hard work but hugely rewarding and after 6 weeks I didn't want it to end. I met so many great people and learned so much about the environment. By the end it felt like my home; an experience I will never forget and recommend to everyone. Catriona, Australia, Ecuador Volunteer
