  • $75AUD  if you pay the application and acceptance fees together when you submit your application between November 1st, 2012 and February 1st, 2013, making the total program fees AU$699.  Both fees will be refunded if you are not accepted to the program.

What You Get

Visa Assistance and Advice

This requirement is very easy as CCUSA and NYQUEST will walk you step by step through the entire process. NYQUEST will provide to you needed documents and directions to ensure a smooth entry into Canada. You do NOT need to interview at the Canadian Consulate to receive the work visa. Your work visa will be organized completely via email and in rare cases by regular mail.

3 Months Insurance Coverage

Included with the program is 3 months travel insurance coverage. You can upgrade to the Premium coverage and / or extend the insurance for up to 18 months. This is a global insurance policy.

Free Room and Board

All participants will receive free room and board for the full duration of their work placement.

Accommodation in Canadian Host City

You will receive as part of the program:

  • Two night’s accommodation and breakfast in the downtown area of their Canadian host city.
  • 30 minutes free internet,
  • The opportunity to meet tons of other international staff going to work at summer camps in Canada!

Assistance finding great International Flights to your Arrival Orientation City

International flights are NOT included in the program price, but our preferred travel agent STA Travel is able to find and book great competitive flights to Canada and beyond. Make sure you chat to them before you book anywhere else so you know you are getting the best deal.

Free Domestic Travel to Orientation Site and Camp

All participants will receive transportation from the airport to their accommodations in the Canadian arrival orientation city.

You will also receive transportation from the accommodations to your camp placement. NYQUEST works hard to make things as simple and easy as possible. Everything you do will always be explained in advance.

Earn a Competitive Wage

Pocket money varies according to your age, experience and qualifications, but you can expect to earn between:

  • $1,400 - $1,600 (Canadian) for your summer camp placement as a Camp Counselor
  • $1,700 - $1,800 (Canadian) for your summer camp placement as Support Staff

Camp Directors are encouraged to pay supervisory staff a higher salary. If you work longer than the 10 weeks you will be paid approximately $30-$40 per day for each day over 10 weeks.  

Canadian Bank Account and a Canadian Social Insurance Number

During the orientation in Canada all participants will receive their Social Insurance Number that will allow them to work legally in Canada. This is an easy process and we will walk you to the social insurance number office and wait with you while you get your number!

In addition, the participants will open their own bank account through TD Canada Trust (www.tdcanadatrust.com), one of the biggest and most reputable banks in Canada. They have branches every which way around Canada and you will always be able to access your account with your own private banker!  You will receive your banker’s business card at your orientation and you can contact them 24/7.

Combination Options, Continue working for a Full Year

Combine Canada with one of our other adventure programs. Participants who travel on a Working Holiday Visa can continue working as a camp counselor, wilderness guide, nature-based facilitator or a support staff. NYQUEST can help participants organize these extra work experiences.
